Human Heart, Cosmic Heart. Dr. Tom Cowan.

The book Human Heart, Cosmic Heart by Dr. Tom Cowan is one of the best and most detailed, easy to understand discussions of the para-sympathetic Rest and Rejuvenation nervous system and the vegus nerve. It details the connection between: Adrenal Fatigue, VAGUS Nerve Health, Heart Health and Strophanthus.

Process Outline: Vagus System > Rest & Regenerate Nervous System > Relaxes the Heart Using > Kidney Adrenal Cortex Neurotransmitters: acetylcholine, nitric oxide, cyclic guanosine monophosphate.

Adrenaline and Cortisol Fight-or-Flight vs. Acetylcholine and GABA Rejuvenation

The Vagus Dial. Think of the balance between the two nervous systems as a dial, not a switch. The modern go-go-go lifestyle and food dials-UP the Alert Mode, also called the sympathetic Fight-or-Flight nervous system. This causes a continual demand for cortisol and the hormone adrenaline, also called epinephrine. Adrenaline is the main hormone in the sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system. Adrenaline is made in the adrenal gland which sits at the top of the kidneys. The kidneys and adrenals are tightly connected and work together.

Too much adrenaline exhausts the vagus system (nerve system). Together with antibiotics, vaxPoison and drug over-use, vagus exhaustion can also create the pre-condition for parasite overload at the cell level. This process often targets the weakest organs in the body. One major sign is overall fatigue. Just tired all the time. Another sign is frequent cold-flu symptoms (low immune strength).

The Adrenaline, Vagus, Heart Connection

The entire Earth seems to be suffering from adrenal fatigue. One end-stage sign for many is heart attack, when a weak vagus cannot supply healthy heart function. Adrenaline constricts the heart, while acetylcholine relaxes the heart, creating a healthy heart beat. An exhausted vagus system cannot supply enough acetylcholine to relax the heart. Modern advice forces the vagus system to produce more adrenaline. This causes an initial energy boost but leads to long-term vagus failure and more heart problems.

More on theVagus-Heart Connection from Dr. Tom Cowan

...In contrast, the parasympathetic branch is centered in the adrenal cortex and uses the adrenal neurotransmitters acetylcholine, nitric oxide, cyclic guanosine monophosphate [and GABA] as its chemical mediators...The particular nerve of the parasympathetic chain that innervates (enlivens/supplies) the heart is called the vagus nerve. It slows and relaxes the heart, wheareas the sympathetic branch accelerates and constricts the heart. It is the imbalance of these two branches that is responsible for most heart disease. ~ DrTomCowan.com. Human Heart, Cosmic Heart, Page 56

Strophanthus: The Vagus-Adrenals-Cholesterol-Pyruvate-Heart Connection

...The medicine that supports all aspects of the parasympathetic (vagus) nervous system is a medicine from the Strophanthus plant called ouabain or g-strophanthus. G-strophanthus is an endogenous (internally produced) hormone made in our adrenal cortex from cholesterol - whose production is inhibited by statin drugs - which does two things crucial for heart health that no other medicine can do. First it stimulates the production and liberation of acetylcholine, the main neurotransmitter of the parasympathetic (vagus) nervous system. Second, and crucially, it converts lactic acid - the main metabolic poison in this process - into pyruvate, one of the main and preferred fuels of the myocardial (heart) cells. In other words, it converts a poison into a nutrient. ~ DrTomCowan.com. Human Heart, Cosmic Heart, Page 59

Activate Your Vagus Nerve With Dr. Navaz Habib

In this episode of SAMA, Dr. Navaz Habib discusses the role of the vagus nerve. Dr. Navaz Habib studied medical sciences at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Habib considered that the vagus nerve is among the core nerves in the body. It connects the brain to our major organs, and affects our overall health.

He works to identify the underlying causes of energy issues, hormone-based conditions, autoimmune diseases, and metabolic concerns. Dr. Habib showed how to test whether the vagus nerve is functioning normally, and described several simple methods to improve our vagus nerve function.
