Ketones also supply the lipid building blocks for neurons. Thus, they aid in the regrowth or repair of damaged brain cells and the synthesis of new cells....

HMI's 2016 Gathering: Dr. Thomas Cowan, on Health and Diet.
Note: first 10 minutes has good audio. Skip the rest.
Please follow the demo at 4:00 minutes in the video for yourself. Partial transcript below. You will understand the problem:
The current timing explanation for a nerve impulse just does not work. It simply is not fast enough.
This data from Dr. Cowan is extremely important because it explains a foundational road-block in understanding any neurological healing process.
2:20 minutes. Transcript: The cell body: ....Neurology 101...a neuron, a single nerve, is made of a cell body which has a nucleus in it...
The parts: ...it [the neuron] has a long tail, called an axon, that emerges from the cell body. The axon ends in a synapse. This means junction. [The axon] has pre-synaptic vesicles [containers] in which are stored neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin etc....

3:05 minutes. ...the way a nerve impulse is transmitted is that there is an impulse starting in the [nerve cell] body. And it is transmitted by calcium-magnesium fluxes. So magnesium goes in and calcium goes out. And this creates a uni-directional impulse which fires off the pre-synaptic junction to release its contents...

, I want you to wiggle the finger that I say [right side or left side]...
4:35 minutes: ....how long did that take? From when you heard me say
Right
or Left
and when you wiggled the tip of your finger?...
4:50 minutes: ....It's instantaneous...If you say a second, that's a long time. If you say

....[So] we are talking milli-seconds. Think about how I just described how a nerve works. So what happened here is...
5:30 minutes. Transcript: ....The sound of my voice:
...
Moved your tympanic membrane,
Fired off a nerve,
Calcium and magnesium [moved] in and out of the axon,
Stimulated a neuro-transmitter to swim across the junction,
Find the mooring on the other side,
Stimulate calcium and magnesium to [cross the synapse junctions].
We did this for about 8 different nerves until we got to the brain,
Then we circled around the brain,
Then we come out the brain,
Down the spinal cord,
20 more nerves ...
And you are telling me that took a millisecond?...
...Ok, so let me give you another fact. The amount of time it takes for a nerve transmitter to traverse the junction is 0.05 seconds....
~ Tom Cowan, MD, 2016 HMI Presentation
...So if there are 20 nerves, that means...it takes a second for just the [neuro-transmitter part to wiggle your finger] to cross the junctions... If there are 40 nerves, that means 2 seconds....
What are we really seeing? Are we measuring the light impulse or the re-charge to the initial state?
7:40 minutes. Transcript. ...The reality is...if you think about what could be that fast? We are talking about instantaneous connection. Because it is not just that [one] nerve. It is hundreds or thousands of nerves...there's only two things that do that...one is electricity and the other is light...

Light Speed
Transcript. ...I think a better model is we are quantumly connected, light-transmitting beings. And actually, in the heart book, I prove that, I hope. And the transmission of the impulse, the chemicals that you see, are the repercussion [recovery, re-charging or re-setting back to initial state] of this light impulse, not the cause...
...And that makes all the difference in the world. Because science and medical technology is continually mis-interpreting the cause and effect to [the] great damage to everybody and everything...
~ Tom Cowan, MD, 2016 HMI Presentation
So in summary, it looks like we have a dual phase nerve energy system. The action-energy follows a light-path along the axons or is quantumly connected (everythign to everything) or both. The return loop back to the initial setting is an electro-chemical recharge system following the axon and vagus nerve structure.
Our amazing physiology is full of light and bio-electric and magnetic resonance.
